Response to Letter to the Editor for "Tonsillectomy versus Tonsillotomy: A study of parental preference" Aug 9th 2015, 00:46, by Sally D. Stasio, Charles Yang, Scott Brietzke, Rahul K. Shah We would like to thank Drs. Brodsky and Dr. Cunningham for their interest in our study and for raising several interesting points in the continuing controversy of tonsillectomy versus tonsillotomy. We have been impressed by the robust response to the study and this topic. Our purpose in performing the study was to investigate the preferences of the typical pediatric patient parent/guardian in consideration of one procedure versus the other. There have been many studies performed comparing the two procedure in terms of various outcomes, but we felt the parent's point of view as the key decision maker was not fully considered.
