The year in review: The best of 2016 in the Annals

The Annals of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology completed its 56th year of publication in 2016, and we were privileged to publish some of the best articles that can be found in our field. We have organized the Annals table of contents by topic, and this review follows that format. I presented a daunting task to our editors, asking them to look through the excellent articles we had published in 2016 and comment on their top choices. From our efforts and discussion, we present the "best of the best" articles published in the 2016 Annals.
