Nasoendotracheal intubation is used for general anaesthesia during oral or orthognathic surgery. The tube may shift from its original, stable position, can be knocked or removed accidently, and it can irritate and damage the inner structure of the nose, or deform its external shape.1–3 It is difficult to maintain the patency of the tube because of kinking, and to ensure an appropriate field of view of the symmetry and shape of the face during procedures.
