A case of mandibular condylar resorption following Botulinum Toxin A injection

Introduction: Botulinum Toxin (Botox) is a commonly used treatment modality for hypertonic muscles of mastication in Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD). Although animal models exist, there are limited human studies which demonstrate condylar resorption as a consequence of repeated use of Botox in the masticatory muscles. This case report illustrates how a patient has experienced bone resorption of the condyle following this treatment.
