OtoRhinoLaryngology & Medicine,New Articles,March 21st,2016."The First Days Of Spring" It's the first day of spring And my life is starting over again Well the trees grow, the river flows And its water will wash away my sin For I do believe that everyone has one chance to fuck up their lives Like a cut down tree, I will rise again I'll be bigger, and stronger than ever before If I'm still here hoping, that one day you may come back If I'm still here hoping, that one day you may come back There's a hope in every new seed And every flower that grows on the Earth And though I love you, and you know that Well I no longer know what that's worth And I'll come back to you, in a year or so And rebuild ready to become Oh the person, you believed in Or the person that you used to love If I'm still here hoping, that one day you may come back If I'm still here hoping, that one day you may come back

A structure based on periodically arranged 3D dielectric cuboids connected by photonic nanojets (PNJs) is proposed with the aim of increasing the propagation distance of surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) at the telecom wavelength of 1550 nm. The performance of the structure is evaluated and compared with the case without the cuboids demonstrating that the SPPs propagation length is enhanced by a factor greater than 2, reaching a value of approximately 19λ0, when the gap between the cuboids is 2.5λ0. Also, the dependence of the propagation length with the height of the cubes is eva... περισσότερα »

Neuronal antibodies have also been described in patients with pediatric epilepsy without encephalitis. The aim was to assess whether antibody presence had any effect on long-term outcomes in these patients. Methods Patients (n = 178) were recruited between 1988 and 1992 as part of the prospective Dutch Study of Epilepsy in Childhood; none received immunotherapy. ... περισσότερα »

[image: cover.gif?v=1&s=2e8a2d7e6f7aaaecf5823a36] Summary Objective Absence seizures in patients with idiopathic generalized epilepsy (IGE) may in part be explained by a decrease in phasic GABAA (type-A γ-aminobutyric acid) receptor function, but the mechanisms are only partly understood. Here we studied the relation between ictal and interictal spike-wave discharges (SWDs) and electroencephalography (EEG) gamma oscillatory activity (30–60 Hz) in patients with IGE. Methods EEG recordings were obtained of 14 children with IGE (mean age, 8.5 ± 5 years) and 14 age- and sex-matched...περισσότερα »

In rare cases, carcinoma has been detected within one of these cysts on histopathologic analysis of resected tissue. Since the incidence of thyroglossal duct cyst carcinoma is low, the appropriate management of the thyroid gland proper is not algorithmic. We present 2 cases of papillary thyroid carcinoma that were discovered in a thyroglossal duc...περισσότερα »

Treatment in elderly patients with head and neck cancer: AbstractDespite the increasing number of elderly patients requiring treatment for head and neck cancer, there is insufficient available evidence about the oncological results of treatment and its tolerability in such patients. Owing to comorbidities, elderly patients often need complex evaluation and pretreatment management, which often results in their exclusion from clinical trials. The question of which patients constitute the highest-risk groups regarding treatment-related morbidity and mortality, and who can tolerate and... περισσότερα »
