Psychiatric disorders with systemic retinoids: a systematic review of case reports

Abstract

The question of the association between isotretinoin and the development of psychiatric disorders has been debated for the past 20 years. Some authors have argued that similar psychiatric symptoms or disorders could also be induced by other systemic retinoids¹. However, few reports have included a formal assessment of the causal link between systemic retinoids and psychiatric disorders.
