Unusual Association: Cerebral Arteriovenous Malformation and Chiari Type I Malformation.

Cerebral arteriovenous malformation (AVM) is a common type of cerebral vascular malformation. The imaging findings are enlarged vessels, thrombosed sinuses, and hemorrhage or gliosis on adjacent brain parenchyma. Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging can be used safely for diagnosis. Chiari type I malformation is characterized by a caudal descent of the cerebellar tonsil. Coincidence of cerebral AVM and Chiari type I malformation is very rare.
