No evidence for induction of autoantibodies or autoimmunity during treatment of psoriasis with ustekinumab

Ustekinumab is a human monoclonal antibody directed against the p40 subunit of both interleukin (IL)-12 and IL-23¹. It has shown to be very effective in the treatment of moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis with a good safety profile^2,.In the last ten years, the appearance of antinuclear antibodies (ANA) and the induction of autoimmune diseases during treatment with tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNFα) inhibitors has been described ^3-4.
