Evaluation of subclinical gut inflammation using fecal calprotectin levels and colonic mucosal biopsy in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis patients

Abstract

Relationship between the joint disease and the gut inflammation has been established in axial spondyloarthritis(SpA). However this is not well established in Psoriatic arthritis(PsA). Our aim was to compare gut inflammation in psoriasis (PsO), PsA and irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) using fecal calprotectin assay which is a non‐invasive tool. This was a single centre prospective case control study.
