Multiple lesions on the buttocks and groin

A 37-year-old man with a history of vitiligo presented for the evaluation of multiple boils in the axillae and groin, as well as scattered pruritic, scaly plaques. The severity and frequency of his condition progressively worsened with daily pain and drainage as well as frequent itching. The physical examination revealed tender, interconnecting sinus tracts and nodules involving the buttocks and groin with overlying, well-demarcated erythematous plaques and surrounding depigmented patches (Figs 1 and 2).
