Assessment of patient knowledge and completion of advance directives in oncodermatology
Abstract Advance directives (AD) are the possibility for any individual to express their wishes on how to be cared at the end of life, when they can no longer make the decisions themselves. In France, AD are only applicable during the end‐of‐life period, such as after an irrecoverable accident or at a terminal phase of a disease. It appeared for the first time in France in 2005 with the Léonetti law, which discussed matters related to the end of life.

Hybrid approach to postmyocardial infarction ventricular septal defect repair
Abstract Postinfarction ventricular septal rupture is a rare and devastating complication of myocardial infarction. Despite attempts at acute surgical and percutaneous defect closure, morbidity and mortality remain high. Herein, we describe a hybrid surgical and catheter‐based approach to defect closure in a 63‐year‐old woman with postinfarction ventricular septal rupture and cardiogenic shock.

Incidence and clinical outcomes of bleeding complications and acute limb ischemia in STEMI and cardiogenic shock
Abstract Background Bleeding complications and acute limb ischemia (ALI) are devastating vascular complications in patients with ST‐segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). Cardiogenic shock (CS) can further increase this risk due to multiorgan failure. In the contemporary era, percutaneous mechanical circulatory support is commonly used for management of CS. We hypothesized that vascular complications may be an important determinant of clinical outcomes for CS due to STEMI (CS‐STEMI)....

Mid‐term clinical outcomes from use of Sirolimus coated balloon in coronary intervention; data from real world population
Abstract Background Use of drug coated balloons (DCBs) in coronary intervention is escalating. There is a plethora of data on Paclitaxcel‐DCB. However, when it comes of stents, Limus‐drugs are preferred over Paclitaxel. There is very limited data on Sirolimus coated balloons (SCB). MagicTouch‐SCB (Concept Medical, FL) elutes Sirolimus via nano‐technology and have been used in our centers since March 2018. We report a mid‐term follow‐up with this relatively novel‐technology. Methods and results...

Massive coronary thrombosis caused primary percutaneous coronary intervention to fail in a COVID‐19 patient with ST‐elevation myocardial infarction
Abstract COVID‐19 is a new viral infection that has a significant impact on global health and economy. Because of its rapid spread worldwide, it may influence the prognosis of other medical conditions, such as ST‐segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). We report a case of a 58‐year female patient admitted with an infero‐posterior STEMI on the background of recently positive COVID‐19 swab. Reperfusion was attempted through primary PCI but unfortunately failed to restore coronary blood flow...

SARS‐COV‐2 infection presenting as ST‐elevationmyocardial infarction
Abstract We describe a patient presenting with chest discomfort, anterolateral ST elevation, and developing acute cardiogenic shock secondary to SARS‐COV‐2infection—patient zero presenting to our institution's cardiac catheterization laboratory. The emergent presentation with limited clinical information led to exposure of personnel. The diagnosis was complicated by two negative tests for SARS‐COV‐2, and high‐clinical suspicion from the patient's occupational history led to additional testing in...

Are new vision standards and tests needed for military aircrew using 3D stereo helmet-mounted displays?
Visual standards for military aviators were historically set in the 1920s with requirements based on the visual systems of aircraft at the time, and these standards have changed very little despite significant advances in aircraft technology. Helmet-mounted displays (HMDs) today enable pilots to keep their head out of the cockpit while flying and can be monocular, biocular or binocular in design. With next generation binocular HMDs, flight data can be displayed in three-dimensional stereo to declutter...

Packet Reordering Metrics to Enable Performance Comparison in IP-Networks
Despite the existence of several metrics to perform measurements on out-of-order packets, few works have used these metrics for comparative purposes. A potential reason for this is that the use of these simple singleton metrics makes it difficult to analyze all the effects of packet reordering. On the other hand, more complete metrics are represented in a vectorial manner, making comparative analysis challenging. In this paper, we present a scenario for testing and describe a methodology for conducting...

Earthquake Ground Motion Matching on a Small Electric Shaking Table Using a Combined NN-PDFF Controller
Replicating acceleration time histories with high accuracy on shaking table platforms is still a challenging task. The complex interference between the components of the system, the inherent nonlinearities, and the coupling effect between the specimen and the shaking table are among other reasons that most affect the control performance. In this paper, a neural network- (NN-) based controller has been developed and experimentally implemented to improve the acceleration tracking performance of an...

Correlation Effects of Near-Field Seismic Components in Circular Metro Tunnels: A Case Study—Tehran Metro Tunnels
Seismic evaluation of underground structures such as tunnels requires nonlinear dynamic analysis, due to the complex dynamic behavior of soil and the interaction of soil and structure. Simulation of the seismic response of the structure using nonlinear dynamic analysis is possible only with proper acceleration time history. Considering the vertical component of the earthquake (such as near-fault earthquakes) on the site is an important factor to achieve real structural responses. In the current study,...
