Clinical Research of Patients with Chronic Rhinosinusitis Treated by Balloon Sinuplasty

Abstract: Objective :To explore the clinic effect of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis(CRS)treated by balloon sinuplasty(BSP). Methods : Patients with CRS were treated by functional endonasal sinus surgery(FESS)(nonexpansion group,n =37) and additionally BSP(expansion group,n =37). Both groups received regular follow-up postoperative for 12 weeks. The clinic effects and complications were compared between the two groups. Results :The expansion group postoperative 8 and 12 weeks got better effects and lower complication rate than that of non-expansion group(P<0.05),and better olfactory condition after 12 weeks ' follow-up(P <0.05). Conclusion :BSP applied in FESS treatment of patients with CRS can effectively improve the treatment effect and has good feasibility and safety.
